Part of a good pest control plan is stopping pests before they start. Excluding points of entry is an amazing way to keep pests like mice, rats and squirrels from getting inside a structure. Even larger pests like raccoons and skunks can be excluded from getting in attics and under decks or sheds.

We get the bats out and keep them out.
Bats have been in the news quite a bit over the past couple years. Their publicity hasn’t been all that good, but bats are beneficial animals. They feed on thousands of insects every night. However, when they take up roost in our homes is when their benefits get replaced with images of bats by the hundreds, piles of guano and screeching sounds.
It is important to remove bats from a structure in a manner that is safe for the property owner but also the bats. Bats begin to hibernate in the fall when hot days disappear and will continue to hibernate until winter is over. During this time we won’t be able to perform eviction services. During June, July and into mid August bats will be rearing young that won’t be able to fly and feed on their own so during this period of time we also won’t be evicting bats.
Bat services depend highly on the time of year and other variables. The best place to start is with a no-charge consult to evaluate and create a treatment protocol.

Protect your investment from termites and other wood destroying insects.
Termites can spell disaster for any structure. These little ant look-a-likes cause BILLIONS of dollars in damages every year. They are cryptic and know how to stay well hidden. Often times, colonies go unnoticed for several years before there are any signs. When you find swarming termites (pictured) you are dealing with a mature colony that is producing reproductives to expand their operation.
Verdant has several ways for controlling termites but the preferred method is installing a termite baiting system. These bait stations for termites get installed in the soil around your structure and offer year round protection. The termites find, consume and share bait that is designed specifically for them. Baiting systems are great and replace the need for putting down tens to hundreds of gallons of liquid chemicals in the ground. If you want eco-friendly then baiting is the way to go.

By planting trees with every service.
Verdant by definition means, green, lush and covered in vegetation. Picture a beautiful forest, thickened with trees in every shade of green imaginable. A place where nature is pure, balanced and at peace. Trees are valuable for seemingly endless reasons and this is why we plant a tree for every single service that is performed. Whether it’s an ant job or the regular monthly service we’re planting a tree. Even no-charge follow ups are getting trees planted. Mother nature is beautiful but we can’t have pests mucking up the places we call home and work. Planting trees will help rebuild forests, produce oxygen and give pests and not-so-pests a different place to live.
